I am an independent speech and language therapist with over 17 years’ experience

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and I spent the first six years of my working life in the media industry. My motivation for changing career was my desire to make a real difference in people’s lives. Being able to enrich individuals’ communication - a fundamental life skill - drove my decision and I haven’t looked back.

I graduated from the Postgraduate Diploma Speech and Language Therapy at City University, London in 2006 and my first post was working for the NHS in Hackney within clinics, primary schools and children’s centres. Having cut my teeth in Hackney, I moved on to an NHS post in the London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea where I was an early years’ specialist. This role involved running a busy clinic, delivering training to health and education professionals and leading parent workshops.

In 2014 I decided to go it alone and my private practice has now been established for over eight years. Working as an independent therapist allows me to provide a tailored offering to my clients. My NHS experience has been invaluable in getting me to where I am now and I place great value on liaising with my NHS colleagues as part of my client-centred approach.

Over the years I have developed a particular interest in the clinical area of stammering and have attended a range of specialist training courses. In 2016 I started working at The Michael Palin Centre for Stammering in London where I had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from world-leaders in stammering therapy. I have spent the last three years working as a tutor at the City Literary Institute in London running therapy courses for adults who stammer, a role which I find incredibly fulfilling.

I am committed to growing my knowledge and skills as part of my continual professional development. I look forward to supporting you through therapy.
